LABOR POLICY - ANNUAL REPORT
Welcome to EasyPak’s Annual Report for the 2023 financial reporting year. This report details our compliance with the Fighting Against Forced Labour and Child Labour in Supply Chains Act, SC 2023, c 9 (the “Act”) and reaffirms our commitment to ethical and sustainable business practices.
1. Purpose
This report outlines EasyPak’s actions and policies to meet the obligations of the Act and our ongoing efforts to prevent forced and child labour in our supply chains.
2. Our Commitment
EasyPak has embedded Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into our operations since inception. We actively support the Act’s objectives and aim to set a positive example of ethical human rights and labour practices across all our business activities.
3. Categorization, Sector, and Industry
EasyPak manufactures high-performing plastic packaging for food, consumer goods, medical, and industrial applications. Operating across North America, EasyPak meets the Act’s financial and operational thresholds, ensuring compliance with its provisions.
4. Structure, Activities, and Supply Chain
- Structure: EasyPak is a Delaware-based LLC headquartered in Leominster, Massachusetts, with five manufacturing plants across the U.S.
- Activities: EasyPak specializes in dependable, high-performing thermoformed packaging solutions for diverse industries.
- Supply Chain: Our materials are sourced primarily from U.S.-based suppliers, ensuring quality and ethical production practices.
5. Policies and Due Diligence Processes
EasyPak enforces a stringent Supplier Code of Conduct, requiring suppliers to adhere to ethical labour standards, including:
- Prohibitions on forced or child labour.
- Wage and benefit compliance with applicable laws.
- Certification of ethical practices through the Supplier Certification Form.
Additionally, EasyPak conducts risk screening and reserves the right to audit suppliers’ facilities to ensure compliance.
6. Forced Labour and Child Labour Risks
In 2023, EasyPak implemented a risk screening process to identify vulnerabilities in Tier 1 suppliers. High-risk areas flagged through this process are subject to deeper evaluations and possible third-party site visits.
7. Remediation Measures
If forced or child labour risks are identified, EasyPak will implement corrective action procedures, including supplier audits and contract suspension or termination for non-compliance.
8. Remediation of Income Loss
No loss of income to vulnerable families has been identified due to EasyPak’s compliance measures.
9. Training Provided to Employees
Procurement team members received training on modern slavery risks and mitigation strategies, ensuring informed and ethical sourcing decisions.
10. Assessing Effectiveness
To measure the effectiveness of our efforts:
- EasyPak annually reviews and updates the Supplier Code of Conduct.
- Suppliers are required to renew their commitments to our updated policies.
- Documentation is regularly revised to align with evolving legal standards.
